Octoberfest!

We had a really fun and busy October! Here are a few things that went down at the Lam Fam home this month.

Mr. Personality lives in my home! Gavin is hilarious! He has been very opinionated lately (which is a good thing) and very, well lets just say that age 2 is right around the corner. :) He is my sweet baby, but he sure keeps us on our toes! One minute he's like this...my sweet cuddle bug:

The next minute he's like this:

Then the next minute he's like this:
Yup! Mr. Personality!

I was able to attend Time Out For Women in Phoenix with some fun women from our stake. It was an amazing weekend! I could go on and on about just how amazing the conference was, but in short it was great to make some new friends and my testimony was really strengthened. I left feeling uplifted and very inspired. I hope I will be able to go again next year.

Tristan had his first class field trip in preschool this month to a fire station. He was so excited! He had never seen a real fire truck up close before. He claimed to have never seen a real fireman before either even though a lot of his close friend's dads are fire fighters. :) When we left he told me he wants to be a fire fighter when he grows up. He spent the rest of the afternoon playing at home with his toy fire truck and fire station.
Me: "Was the hat heavy?" Tristan: "Ya, it was pretty heavy but I could still wear it all day." Love that confidence!

My sister Kristi flew in from Georgia to be here for my brother Adam's wedding. She had her Birthday while she was here so we celebrated and went out to lunch and did some shopping. I can't remember the last time I got to hang out with my big sisters and my mama all day. I hope there's a repeat soon!

My sweet big brother Adam and his sweet wife Erin. It was such a beautiful wedding and Erin was absolutely gorgeous! I just love them both so much! Congratulations Adam and Erin McCook!!

Happy Halloween! Tristan got to start all the Halloween hoopla by making a "Bat Hat" at preschool.

The sweetest dinosaur and tiger you'll ever meet.

But then Tiger gets grumpy because mommy is taking too long taking pictures and he's ready to go outside!

Flagstaff Trip!

Quint had some work to do in Flagstaff this last weekend so the boys and I tagged along for a mini vacation and we had a great time! The weather was beautiful (a great escape from the heat!) and we got to hang out with my good friend AJ all weekend. We went to a gorgeous park, took a drive further up the mountain to see the changing leaves on the Aspen trees, we ate at a lot of local restaurants, and walked around downtown Flagstaff. We had a blast and we hope we'll be able to go again soon when there's snow everywhere!

Beach Vacation

La Jolla Beach. Tristan loved looking at the seals resting on the rocks.

Looking at the view from our hotel room

We're so happy to be at the beach!

Building sand castles at a Coronado Island beach

I'm backtracking a bit but wanted to share about our relaxing trip to California a few days before Tristan started school. We only went for two nights so it was a quick trip, but so relaxing! We went to several different beaches in Southern California and the boys had a blast running in the waves and building sand castles. When I say "boys" this includes Quint. :)

Tristan's First Day of Preschool

Tristan had his first day of preschool today! He was so excited when he woke up this morning that he got ready right away, even though school didn't start until after lunch. :) He said that they made peanut butter play dough, made a "T" out of the dough then ate it, had show n' tell (he brought his favorite stuffed animal, Kung Fu Panda Bear), and then they played games to get to know each other. Tristan LOVED it! I am so proud of my sweet boy and his excitement to learn. It was also fun having some one on one time with just Gavin and I while Tristan was at school. We killed time grocery shopping and playing at the park. I think we are all going to adjust to this new school schedule very well!
