Baby Tenley

Our sweet baby girl is here! It's long overdue for me to write down details about the birth of Tenley.
My pregnancy was going really smooth when all of a sudden in the last trimester I became very uncomfortable and anxious. I was feeling like she was going to come any day even though I still had a few weeks left. Both Tristan and Gavin came 3 days after my due date so I was expecting the same for Tenley. 3 weeks before my due date the boys and I met Quint for lunch at In n Out. I kept telling him while we were eating that I felt like she was going to come really soon. I remember saying, "I can't believe I have 3 weeks left! I don't think I can make it that long!". Well, after lunch Quint left to go back to work and I took the boys to the park. Right when we got to the park I got out of the car and my water broke! There was no doubt about it! Tristan and I were standing there and I looked at him and said, "Tristan! My water just broke!". Not sure why I told my 5 year old this...I was just really shocked. Tristan looked at me and said, "Mom, does that mean Tenley peed in your belly?" :) I dropped the boys off with my sister and headed for the hospital. Quint met me there and I was hooked up to pitocin right away. My mom, Shari, and Lexi came and helped Quint coach me through my labor and delivery which was pretty darn easy...my easiest one yet! After 9 hours of labor Tenley was born at 11:01 at night, weighing 6 lbs 7 oz, and 19 inches long. She is our angel baby and we love her so much! The boys are SO sweet with her and are a big help to me. It's a busy life with three children but we've all adjusted very well and we absolutely love that Tenley is a part of our family.

These pictures were taken by Amanda Summerhays when Tenley was 8 days old.

My friend Ann took this picture when Tenley was 3 days old.

Waiting for contractions to start! I was actually very nervous. I remember thinking, "I hope this doesn't hurt too bad." :) I'm funny.

My lovely cheering section. It was very special to have them there.

Halloween

I'm going to back track about 6 months for the next several posts because I have a lot to catch up on since Tenley was born.
Halloween was a whirlwind this year! I was very pregnant with Tenley and she surprised us and showed up at the end of October instead of November. But we were still able to do a lot of our family traditions. We carved pumpkins, went to the pumpkin patch, and went trick or treating with the Lamoreaux family. Quint's Mom was in town to meet Tenley so she got to be with the boys for Halloween...they were in heaven! It was another fun, memorable holiday!

I've been told that the Star Wars phase is a right of passage for every boy. :) It's all about Luke and Obi Wan this year!

These little angels light up my life! They truly are best friends and I hope it always stays that way.

The Countdown!

We are really getting anxious to meet our baby girl! I have 8 weeks left so the countdown is officially on. Tristan asks me on a daily basis if Tenley is ready to come yet, and Gavin rubs my belly and says, "Hi Tenley". It's so sweet to see that they love her already.
So far this has been a great pregnancy. Nothing out of the ordinary other than I feel a bit more spacey and mellow this time around. My only consistent craving has been the candy Air Heads and Nico's breakfast burritos. This is my first time being very pregnant during the summer and that has been interesting to say the least! I've never minded the Tucson summers before, but this year has been very different. I'm so glad that it's finally starting to cool off a bit. All in all, we're feeling very blessed and excited for Tenley's grand entrance!

Kindergarten!

My baby started kindergarten! He was so excited and pumped for this day. Seeing his excitement made it harder for me to get emotional, I was so excited for him! He goes to half day which is a little less than 3 hours, Monday through Friday. I take him in the mornings and then he rides the bus home. He tells me all about his day while we eat lunch, and then we do his homework right away. So far his favorites have been the puppets they use for Science, sorting in Math, and making sure he gets a green light for the day so that he can get a stamp on his hand. He also talks a lot about the swings he gets to play on during their recess. He's really loving it! I hope his love and excitement for school continues to grow through out the years.

He was a little nervous when we told him we were leaving. It was so cute! We reassured him that he'd do great and we'd be right back to pick him up in a few hours.
