I can't believe the summer has come to an end! It went by way too fast and we enjoyed every minute of it. Tristan has been looking forward to starting first grade at his new school Estes. A week before school started he came with me to help pick out all of his supplies that he would need. Aunt Shari came with us and bought him a Spiderman lunchbox and that was his favorite school supply! He didn't have to take a lunch to school last year since kinder was only half day, so he is really excited to eat in the cafeteria like a big kid this year. :)
On the last Saturday before school started Quint was trying to kick a sinus infection but really wanted to be with the kids since it was the last official fun day of summer. We decided to take it easy at home and do some fun activities so Quint could still be involved. After breakfast we made snicker doodle cookies (Tristan's favorite) and the boys ate them while watching Wild Kratts. I took a couple of Quint's old t-shirts and made some capes for the boys and they loved playing super hero. At one point they turned the capes around to sit in front of them and pretended the capes were aprons and played restaurant. They were being so creative! Later, the boys got on the computer and printed off some Octonauts (their new favorite Disney show) Creature Report cards, colored them, and added them to their collection. The big bang in the evening was turning the backyard into a big mud bath! They played out there for about an hour and had so much fun with each other. Tristan has never really liked getting dirty so he was the first to say that he was done. Gavin loves dirt, mud, rain, being sticky, you name it! He kept walking around the mud and saying, "This is so gross...I wuv it!" :) He said that over and over. He cracks me up! After the mud bath they jumped into my tub and played some more while getting clean. It was a very memorable day for all of us.
Our sweet first grader! He was so pumped and ready!
Gavin misses Tristan while he's at school. When we drop him off Gavin always says right away in the car that he misses him already. They are buddies.
Baby girl was all ready to drop brother off at school!
This picture kills me! My little man is growing up way too fast. I sorta lost it after this...I think I was more emotional this year since he is in full day now. It was hard to leave him! But he is truly loving first grade and we're so proud of him. He's making friends, he loves his teacher, and he has such a strong desire to do good in school. He's a great kid!

Shari's girls started school this week too so we spent a lot of time together. We relaxed and just enjoyed ourselves before everything starts getting crazy busy. :) It was a great first week of school for everyone!
